Directing

Joshua David Matthews is an award-winning filmmaker with an MFA in Film & Television from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). For over 15 years, he has written, directed, and produced short films, documentaries, and commercial work, with a focus on character-driven genre cinema. His creature-feature short IT DRAWS CLOSER won Best Short at Six Feet Under Fest and Screamfest: New Orleans. As a producer, his film TO HELL WITH YOU won Best Film at FilmQuest, Rome International Film Festival, and Buried Alive Film Festival, among others. He also produced TAPESTRY, which screened at FrightFest, Screamfest Horror Film Festival, and Sitges Film Festival. His work has screened nationally and internationally, including at Panic Fest, Salem Horror Fest, Chattanooga Film Festival, Dances With Films, Sidewalk Film Festival, and Camerimage. His screenplays have placed in competitions including ScreenCraft, Killer Shorts, Nashville Film Festival, and Atlanta Film Festival. He continues to develop character-driven genre projects through his production company, Heebie-Jeebies Pictures.
